“I really enjoyed DeeLab Academy, Please have other annotations classes in the future so I can keep up with the industry. Thanks!”
3D Point Cloud ESSENTIALS
Build hands-on skills in 3D cuboid placement and scene segmentation for autonomous vehicles and robotics.
Course Fee
S$158Next run: 31 Aug 2026
Overview
Become a certified 3D Point Cloud professional.
Add the third dimension. You will annotate raw 3D data captured by LiDAR, depth cameras, and photogrammetry rigs — placing 3D cuboids and segmenting full scenes the way autonomous-vehicle and robotics teams do it. The hardest annotation modality on the market, and one of the most in-demand once you can do it well.
Counts toward DeeLab Academy's Certified Data Annotator pathway.

If a run doesn't fill
A run needs at least 3 trainees to go ahead. If one doesn't reach that, we move you to the next date for the same course and tell you straight away — your payment carries over, and there's nothing more to pay. If no date suits you, we refund you in full.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this course.
The course is open to anyone — no prior AI knowledge or coding experience required. It works well for project managers and QA leads overseeing 3D annotation teams, contractors and freelancers who want to work on one of the highest-paid annotation modalities on the market, and developers or researchers building autonomous-vehicle, robotics, or photogrammetry products who want to understand what their 3D training data actually looks like. Understanding 3D annotation from the inside helps you plan better, communicate across teams, and produce higher-quality results faster.
All tools used in the course are free or very low cost — you can keep using them after the course ends. You will work with CVAT (Community Edition) for 3D cuboid placement and scene segmentation, and Google Drive for dataset organisation. A standard laptop with a modern browser is all you need — no LiDAR sensor or specialist 3D hardware required.
You will be able to produce 3D cuboid annotations and scene segmentation on raw point-cloud data captured by LiDAR, depth cameras, and photogrammetry rigs, follow a clear label taxonomy and edge-case guidelines so your output is usable downstream, and meet the precision and consistency expectations production teams set for 3D work. These are the day-one skills used inside autonomous-vehicle, robotics, and industrial-inspection pipelines — one of the most in-demand annotation modalities once you can do it well. Project scoping, QA leadership, and team-role rotation are reserved for the Advanced courses and bootcamps.
Yes — 3D Point Cloud Essentials is fully online and you can join from anywhere in the world. We are also open to designing on-site workshops for organisations with sufficient demand; reach out through our contact page if you would like an in-person format for your team.
There is currently no formal industry-wide certification body for data annotation training — a gap the AI ecosystem is still addressing. DeeLab Academy follows the best current industry practices and methodologies, our curriculum is designed and delivered by a five-member team of multi-year industry experts, and we collect structured feedback from every cohort to keep improving the content. We are fully open to being audited by any recognised consultancy that wishes to validate our processes.
You have three months to complete the course, counted from the end date of your first course run. The deadline is fixed and doesn't reset if you move to a later run.
Yes — you're automatically enrolled in the run you choose, and you can move to another scheduled run of the same course up to twice from your dashboard. Your payment carries over and your completion deadline stays pinned to your first run's end date.
