Overview
Become a certified Video Labeling professional.
Video annotation is image labelling with memory — every frame is a decision and every track is a story. You will learn classification, frame-by-frame labelling, action recognition, and object tracking on footage from autonomous driving, sports analytics, surveillance, and robotics datasets. The patience and precision motion data demands, taught on the kind of clips real teams ship against.
Counts toward DeeLab Academy's Certified Data Annotator pathway.

If a run doesn't fill
A run needs at least 3 trainees to go ahead. If one doesn't reach that, we move you to the next date for the same course and tell you straight away — your payment carries over, and there's nothing more to pay. If no date suits you, we refund you in full.

What our trainees say
Unedited feedback from graduates who completed this course.
“I recently completed the Video Labelling training with Deelab.ai and had an excellent experience. The course was very well-structured, practical, and easy to follow, even for someone new to annotation work. The trainers explained concepts clearly, provided hands-on examples, and guided us through real-world use cases that made learning both engaging and useful.”
“I recently completed Image Labeling and Video Annotation courses from DeeLab Academy and I had an excellent learning experience. The courses were well structured and the hands-on practice sessions were especially helpful to apply what I learned. The trainer, Benard, was really patient and took the time to clarify all our doubts thoroughly which made the learning process smooth and stress-free. The coordinator, Hannah, was extremely organized and ensured everything ran on schedule. I would highly recommend DeeLab Academy to anyone looking to build strong skills in Data Annotation.”
“All was great! I am now looking forward to be able to use these skills in a real job! Thank you!”
“Good class, well explained!”
“Overall it was an excellent experience. The trainer was really patient in explaining everything clearly. He made the sessions interactive and addressed all our queries properly. Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about this course.
The course is open to anyone — no prior AI knowledge or coding experience required. It works well for project managers and QA leads setting standards for teams that label video, contractors and freelancers paid to annotate motion data professionally, and developers or researchers who want to understand what their video training data looks like and why frame-to-frame consistency makes or breaks a model. Understanding video annotation from the inside helps you plan better, communicate across teams, and produce higher-quality results faster.
All tools used in the course are free or very low cost — you can keep using them after the course ends. You will work with Label Studio (Community Edition) or CVAT (Community Edition) for video annotation and object tracking, and Google Drive for dataset organisation. A standard laptop with a modern browser is all you need.
You will be able to produce classification, frame-by-frame labelling, action recognition, and object tracking annotations to production standards on real video datasets, follow a clear label taxonomy and tracking guidelines so your output is usable downstream, and meet the patience and precision that motion data demands at production speed. These are the day-one skills used inside autonomous driving, sports analytics, surveillance, and robotics pipelines. Project scoping, QA leadership, and team-role rotation are reserved for the Advanced courses and bootcamps.
Yes — Video Labeling Essentials is fully online and you can join from anywhere in the world. We are also open to designing on-site workshops for organisations with sufficient demand; reach out through our contact page if you would like an in-person format for your team.
There is currently no formal industry-wide certification body for data annotation training — a gap the AI ecosystem is still addressing. DeeLab Academy follows the best current industry practices and methodologies, our curriculum is designed and delivered by a five-member team of multi-year industry experts, and we collect structured feedback from every cohort to keep improving the content. We are fully open to being audited by any recognised consultancy that wishes to validate our processes.
You have three months to complete the course, counted from the end date of your first course run. The deadline is fixed and doesn't reset if you move to a later run.
Yes — you're automatically enrolled in the run you choose, and you can move to another scheduled run of the same course up to twice from your dashboard. Your payment carries over and your completion deadline stays pinned to your first run's end date.
